Austin Taylor is in his 8th year of teaching and the 3rd year at North Garland High School where he is responsible for the Non-Varsity band and Jazz Ensemble. Mr. Taylor received a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2014. He was the Assistant Director at Terrebonne High School from 2014 - 2016 and the Associate Director of Bands at Lafayette High School from 2017 - 2020. In 2017, he was named Outstanding Young Music Educator by the Louisiana Music Educators Association. Over his teaching career, Mr. Taylor’s bands have received superior ratings in marching and concert festivals at the local and district levels. Major performance opportunities include The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Louisiana Concert Band Invitational, US Bands, and Bands of America events.

Mr. Taylor has performed with many ensembles over the years including the Lafayette Concert Band, Louisiana Saxophone Quartet, The Bayouland Saxophone Quartet, The Bayou Community Band, and The Skyliners Big Band. His professional affiliations include The National Association for Music Education, The Texas Jazz Educators Association, and Texas Music Educators Association.
